Ethylhexyl Stearate

Ethylhexyl Stearate is an emollient. An emollient is an ingredient that helps to prevent water loss in the skin, softens and soothes the skin. Examples of emollients are plant oils, shea butter, cocoa butter, some emollients are derived from animals or the petroleum industry. We don’t use mineral oils, or any ingredients derived from the petroleum industry or from animals.

Ethylhexyl Stearate also helps to enhance the texture of the skin, gives the skin a smoother feel. These following ingredients are also emollients; triglycerides, benzoates, myristates, palmitates, and stearates. They are waxy in texture and gives moisturizers a smoother texture and feel, and skin softening properties.
